Website for Learning Management Solution

Role

UX Designer

Project Overview

Impata is an open learning platform that also provides users with a Learning Management Solution that allows experts and teachers from different fields and subjects create and share courses with learners on the platform.

Learn without limits, teach without boundaries

Today, more and more people are looking to learn online, whether to expand their knowledge, advance their careers or change the course of their career. The COVID-19 vaccine further increased the uptake of online learning and impata wants to provide people with an opportunity to learn online and manage what they learn and how they learn. Impata also works well with educational and non-educational institutions looking to impart knowledge and basically anybody that has knowledge to share with the rest of the world.

Project Goal

The goal of this project was to create a website that provided prospective users information about the learning management solution and sign them up for the product.

Target Audience

  1. Educational institutions - primary schools, secondary schools, tertiary institutions, postgraduate institutions.
  2. Non-educational institutions - Companies, organizations, religious institutions
  3. Individuals and groups of people looking to share knowledge
  4. Learners and students

Research Study Details

Research for this project included exploring the internet to see how similar websites were designed and trying to figure out why they were designed the way they were and picking out best practices.

I also had one on one discussions with learners and teachers to understand what they would like to know about a learning management solution and how they would want the sign up process to look like.

Sketches or Wireframes

I created sketches of layout concepts for the website with emphasis on simplicity. This allowed me to get feedback early from stakeholders and make changes quickly before proceeding to the high fidelty designs.

High-Fidelity Prototypes

Then I created high fidelity designs with slight edits that reflected the data from feedback.

Conclusion

The designs were well received and we were good to go for the next phase of the project which was designing the actual learning management solution.
