The Brooklyn Tailor app is an easy way for customers to place orders for outfits, customize them, make payment and have them delivered. They offer a wide spectrum of competitive pricing. Their target customers are Nigerians in and around New York City
The goal of this project was to design a seamless experience that allowed customers of the fashion store to order outfits online, customize their outfits, send in measurements and track their orders.
The app is intended for customers of the fashion store who live near or around the store. They are generally young people, with a unique sense of style and a flair for African prints.

Time Constraint
I conducted user interviews and created empathy maps to understand the user and the challenges user faced when trying to place orders for their outfits from Brooklyn Tailor. A primary user group identified through research was working adults who don’t have time to visit the store to make orders and take measurements.
Taking the time to draft iterations of each screen of the app on paper ensured that the elements that made it to the digital wireframes would be well-suited to address user pain points. For the home screen, I prioritized a quick and easy way to get started styling outfits.
The second usability study revealed users wanted some inspiration to determine what kind of outfit to get. So I included a banner that linked to a list of curated styles.
The user group confirmed initial assumptions about Brooklyn Tailors customers but research also revealed that completing payments online were not the only factor limiting users from customers from placing orders online.
The final high-fidelity prototype presented a cleaner user flow for ordering an outfit. It also met user needs for smoother checkout and more customization.
While designing the Brooklyn Tailor app, I learnt that the first ideas for the app are usually the beginning of the process. Usability studies and peer feedback influenced each iteration of the app’s designs.
